Improvements/suggestions

I just played for the first time and love the game. I hope you sell a pile of games so you can keep putting the time and effort into improving it. I have a few initial thoughts. I would like to see a timer added like a real game so it doesn't last so long.
Yellow stones seem to be a lot more inconsistant then the reds. Brushes would be a nice addition, I would like to hold down a button for brushing and release it when I wanted the brushing to stop rather then toggle on and off. I can't see the top of the house from the overhead camera. In general it is a huge hit with the family and could help create interest in the life game.

Okay we have played for only one day and already we have found that if you have two evenly matched players yellow will lose every time. The yellow stones have way more mis thrown stones compared to the red stones. Please fix it it is causing us not to want to play already!! Also we think you are missing a very exciting part of the game by not having the sweeping an active part. We all tried to push the harder button many times hoping that would be like brushing but it is a simple on and off toggle switch that takes away from the excitement of sweeping and tapping the button imitating sweeping. That would be a huge improvement.

Guy Mitchell:
Thanks for the feedback. You found a bug. In Granite v2.1d (the current version) the skill settings for the red and yellow teams are different by default. I will get it fixed this week.

There is an easy work-around:

1. Click the Options button on the Main Menu;
2. Adjust the Delivery Accuracy for the Red and Yellow teams;

Your settings will be automatically saved for the next time you play.

My approach to sweeping was that you're playing as the skip -- you make the call and the sweepers respond. I understand what you're saying though. It would be more exciting if you could affect the sweeping by clicking faster or moving the mouse back and forth. I will think about how to add those options.

I like the "toggle" on/off for the sweeping. I'd rather be concentrating on watching the line, speed and working strategy. Just goes to show, we all have different wants

Like you said, we all have different wants. I think people's expectations somewhat depend on what positions they play. For example:

- Skips are always asking for sweeping behind the tee-line -- front-ends don't think it's that important;

- Front-ends want to move the mouse or click buttons like crazy to sweep -- skips just want to yell and let the front-end deal with it;

At some point I'd like to make it possible to play different positions. The sweepers could follow their stones. The skips could sit back and bark orders.

Good point regarding what you may depend on the positions and yes it would be nice to play different positions.
Is it my imagination or is there no way to load a saved game to continue play in the new version. I can't seem to find it?

Now that you have automated the opposition (computer) it is very hard to "undo shot" . Usually the next shot starts before you get a chance to "undo"

Ah, yes, of course. I usually play with "undo" turned off.

I will change it so that the computer only throws immediately if "undo" is turned off.

Version 2.2b is now ready and it makes the computer wait if "undo" is enabled. It also fixes that annoying crash-at-the-end-of-every-game bug, fixes the feedback and bug report windows, and lets you load games and practices again.

Head over to the downloads page to get it:

Please let me know if you find any other problems.
